Smaller Version of Blow Light by Tom Dixon?
Good Questions

Q - I'm looking for a smaller version of these Tom Dixon Blow Light Floor Lamps. These run 12" in diameter, but I'm looking for something with a similar aesthetic (copper would be ideal but silver or black would be ok too) but on a smaller scale. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Editor - We've always loved Tom Dixon's designs, but the $440 price tag puts these out of reach of most regular budgets. Anyone out there find a more affordable version or DIY version similar to Mr. Dixon's floor lamp?

Looking at the shape it looks like you could probably throw together a DIY option with some careful shopping. I see a hi walled metal bowl, a flared metal bowel and a glass bowl. The hard part would be properly combining it all. It also won't have the continuous look that you get from the whole glass piece, just a similar look.

Not sure about those particular lights, buff though they are. If you about in London, you may get a bit of inspiration from the exhibition he's doing with some other artists, it's at the London design museum. There's also a ticket give away if you're interested. www.supercontemporary.co.uk/?s=ticket-giveaway
