It's the Curse of the Bambino! We may not be that into the Red Sox, but we're diehard Celtics fans. But even as a fan, this Celtics-inspired recliner will never be OK in our den, no matter how much we reeeeally want KG to get a ring. One of our fellow Celtics fans wants to kit out his "man room" in full-on green and white, and he asked us for some tips. The tricky part? His "man room" isn't technically "his"--it's the den that he shares with his wife.
Our initial reaction is well, don't. Don't do it. We've seen the furniture, the bar stools, the billiards accessories. We get the catalogue every month, and we cringe. After putting out our feelers to both married couples and interior decorators, the general consensus is to limit your fan-dom to a sweatshirt and MAYBE a throw blanket if you want to keep your marital status in tact.
But maybe there's a way to decorate and still proclaim your team loyalty. Anyone have any tips or photos of chic sporty rooms?

some ideas of things that you can display or hide all your sports memorabilia in (rather than have a bunch of junk lying all over):
Display Case
Locker-style Cabinet
Those are just some random things I found. also - what about photos? i like when they are printed black and white and framed, it's more classy than a bunch of tacky posters all over the walls.

Framed photos maybe in b&w or antiqued shades, hints of team colors, shadowboxes with memorabilia, subtly sports themed items.
I like brown leather furniture, that deep chocolate-y brown.
I've also seen some neat displays of old tickets, programs, etc under the glass on coffee tables.

My parents have blueprints of Yankee stadium (copies, obviously) hanging up. It doesn't scream "baseball fan" looks great, and everyone who sees it knows what it is.
I also just think blueprints are neat looking.

I vote for framed photographs too.
P.S. inertia -- great idea (except maybe when Homeland Security knocks on the door).
