And sometimes, once you've screwed it up, it's impossible to fix.

So true--and, like with Ikea furniture, sometimes it takes a long time in life to realize that you made a big, big mistake.

And sometimes, you have to ignore the directions and go with your instincts.

Hmmm...I don't know. My IKEA installs are always perfect. My life is just the complete opposite.

perhaps because life doesnt come with a manual...

Life is also sometimes like Overstock.com furniture. Not all of the hardware you need to finish it was put in the bag at the factory in China.

I am come to the conclusion that I am a very strange person. I went to Ikea the other day (mostly for jam) and the only thing I bought that required assembly were the storage boxes. After the five minutes to put them together, I felt let down. So I grabbed the book of Sodoku puzzles I had lying around, but it just wasn't the same.

In our case, that would mean life is regularly screwed together upside down, and also starts to sag in the middle after a depressingly short period of time.
Hm, maybe this IS true...

BruinToo, you seem to be the only one to realize, that ready-to-assemble furniture, ikea or otherwise, is only as good as the person who puts it together. everyone finds it so easy to place blame on the company and not their own handy work, or inability to comprehend diagrams. it really amazes me.
like you, anything i have ikea has been a problem. the manuals are easy to understand. if perchance you have some hardware missing (and mind you, that's the factories fault, not ikea) the store is more than willing to give you what you need. get a grip people.
