Got a lot of stuff laying around that you've been wanting to replace? We just heard about this site after perusing Big Skills. This new site. Commuto.com, is all about trading, not selling! It's an online social networking site where you can trade your stuff with someone for no fee whatsoever. Simply put: a great alternative to eBay...

It sounds a bit like Freecycle, too. Years ago, I lived in a city that didn't have Craigslist, in a neighborhood where I couldn't hold a garage sale. I was moving and ended putting all this stuff out on the curb, hoping that someone would snag it before the garbage truck came. I love that there are so many easy alternatives to that now.

there's also a christian-themed site called two shirts that's been around for just a little while. i don't think it gets much publicity, but the basic concept is kind of cool: We believe very strongly that everybody has something to give. Twoshirts is an attempt to cultivate an community of generosity, which means everyone must participate in the giving. Participation by everyone is healthy, affirming, and builds trust in the community. You're not expected to give according to the market value of what you receive, only according to what you have extra.
