In Style's Green Tips: Jessica Alba's Home

Reuse and recycle: "The craftsmanship is often better in older pieces," says Whitman. "For Jessica Alba's house we bought almost every piece used."
In Style magazine recently featured actress Jessica Alba's home which practices some eco-friendly tips thanks to interior decorator Kari Whitman. Check out a few of tips and photos after the jump...

Alba and husband Cash Warren have hardwood floors in their bedroom. Skip the carpeting as Whitman claims that most carpeting "made from non-organic fibers and it can get so dirty and hold in dust and various toxins." Some eco-friendly rug options? Sisal, jute, or cork. "You can also get outdoor rugs of recycled plastic or old tennis balls that are great," she says. Another great sustainable wood floor resource is Bamboo Flooring Hawaii.

Whitman installed Forever Lawn, a synthetic turf made from recycled plastic and tires. It saves water, looks real, and eliminates pesticides.

How is it that the readers read all of AT and the posters do not?
Not to be overly mean, but this is becoming more the norm than the exception.

People make mistakes...sheesh.
Besides, not all of us got to enjoy this fabulous article the first go-round. How could I have missed it? Ms. Alba looks very concerned about the environment, very luxuriously concerned.
