LA Curbside Recycling Expands Accepted Materials

061808recyclingbin.jpgGood news! The LA Bureau of Sanitation has expanded their approved listing of recyclable materials you can put inside your trusty blue bin each week. All clean plastics from types 1-7, plastic grocery and dry cleaning bags, and even Styrofoam can now be set aside for recycling instead of thrown away. This is welcome news, since we were only putting in #1 and #2 marked plastics before. Just be sure not to throw in construction materials, appliances, hoses or lawn furniture into those bins (call for bulky item pickup).

LUCKY! I just ordered a smoothie in Toronto that sadly came in a Styrofoam cup. It's not recyclable here...I actually considered asking for a refund. :(
