California is known as being environmentally progressive. But how would you feel about having a device installed into your home monitoring and displaying how much electricity is being used at a given moment? Soon enough every British household will have the option of installing these real-time monitors, as noted on BBC News, hopefully helping curb greenhouse gas emissions.

We hope we see something similar to this program across the pond here in the United States, as we believe people are more proactively conserving when the figures are readily available (in the same way many Prius hybrid owners try to eke out the best mileage using their fuel meters). Because knowing is half the battle.
