MeanGreen Trucking and Transport

The last time we moved, we had several good friends help us move the majority of our belongings. One discovers who their real friends are on the morning of a move, when excuse are plenty, but attendance is sparse. Fortunately for both us and them, the move was just a half a mile, so we were able to transport everything but our bed, daybed, the chaise, a couple heavy cabinets and bookcases. For those, we hired professional movers, and despite the cost, we didn't regret the fee after watching the two young bucks huffing and puffing up two flights of stairs through a narrow entryway. Finding good movers tends to be a crapshoot, but we lucked out, and everything was handled quite well.

But it did admittedly feel ridiculous to see a large diesel truck literally motor "just down the street" with our belongings. Maybe I would have felt a little less guilty if we used MeanGreen Trucking and Transport, a moving service which operates low-polluting biofuel fueled trucks, instead of the typical diesel vehicles. They've got a fleet of these veggie oil fueled trucks here in LA, ready to move you locally or cross country. And they even claim they plant a tree for each move they do. One mover is $55/hour up to a $100/hour for a three man crew. We'd love to know if any of you out there have used this company for a move. And more importantly, did it smell like burgers and fries?

Awesome! I heard they just got more trucks in their fleet. And planting a tree with every move? WOW! I love this company.
