Want to visit LA but have no place to stay? Forget the schmancy hotels on the Sunset Strip, and bunk down in style at one of these Venice Beach Eco Cottages. These three beach bungalows were completely remodeled using eco-friendly products: repurposed original wood, energy efficient appliances, and vintage furnishings and local art.

The brains behind this project is husband-and-wife team Karel Samson and Cynthia Foster, and they did a great job taking these one-time crack houses into very chic and sustainable vacation homes. They're located a mere four blocks from Abbot Kinney, which means there's a fair chance that you'll run into Laure (and if you do, she can tell you where to have a great brunch...)
If you're interested in staying at the Venice Beach Cottages, visit the website or call 866.802.3110 for more info.

Those cottages are absolutely adorable! I love the eco-chic aspect and will share that with my blog readers at http://www.planetpinkngreen.com where all eco-friendly and beautiful things live in harmony. I totally know that area in Venice Beach and love it. Isn't the yoga studio, Sacred Movement right around there? Love that place.

Wow! Adorable! I think I'm going to redecorate my apt! Everytime I try to decorate, it never comes out the way I want it. Now I have a guide! Love 'em! I wonder where they got those crystal lamps with the red shades?

Thanks for your very sweet comments!
The 40's bed came from Jeanie at Venice Vintage Paradise, she's got a great eye and many of her treasures are in the cottages.
Kelly, I'm not sure specifically which lamps you mean, but all of the lamps and light fixtures are vintage and came from thrift stores, flea markets and yard sales. We played with them - added shades, painted bases, definitely DIY
If you need some guidance in this area (like we did) Kelly LaPlante came up with the beautiful design for Cottage LeBébé and made enormous contributions in the other two cottages, as well. Thanks, Kelly, and congrats on Ecologique!
