"During the fall of 2005, climbing natural gas prices pulled conventional electricity costs above those of wind-generated electricity, the source of most green power. This crossing of the cost lines in Austin and several other communities is a milestone in the U.S. shift to a renewable energy economy."
Sure the natural energy's success is great news, but how about a big hurrah for the inevitable windmills that will create more Chirsto-like beauty like those that dapple the country side as you drive out Palm Springs way?
Hmmmm...Big ugly gas tanks or calming, serine windmills...? Maybe the future is looking a little brighter after all.

Wait until the environmentalists start fussing over migratory birds getting killed by the windmills... I went looking for online photos of our beloved Altamont Pass windmills, and I mostly found protestors. Apparently all 5,600 at Altamont are to be replaced with more avian-friendly equipment.
I'm bummed. I'm very fond of the windmills and haven't really gotten attached to the birds.
