The Hunt: The Chamberlain Hotel

The newest boutique Hotel from the KOR Hotel Group recently opened its doors a few months ago in West Hollywood, called The Chamberlain. I recently visited the hotel and was so surprised how they managed to design a super stylish hotel in such a small space. The lobby is quaint with its mirrored walls; mohair upholstered Chippendale sofa, and Regency and vintage Asian style furnishing.

Down a few steps is the restaurant which looks like its right out of a European candy shop. The hotel definitely has the design style of KWID, Kelly Wearstler’s interior design firm, but there is no mention of it.

The Chamberlain is just a block from the Sunset Strip and in the heart West Hollywood. A good location for out of town guests who want to visit Los Angeles.

With its amazing views from the roof top pool, I could see why the hotel was redone.

The rooms start at about $129 and go up.

I did a little research on Expedia.com and there were some mixed reviews of the hotel. Perhaps someone who has stayed there and can share his or her experience of the hotel.

Yes, KOR did an amazing job with the place. It looks nothing like its predecessor, Summerfield Suites.

I had a great stay...really comfortable beds in spacious rooms, it is close to everything and hidden away all at the same time. Design is as sweet as it looks in your photos!

From their press release:

"Interior designer David McCauley, a protégé of designer Kelly Wearstler of kwid, the creative eye behind the signature style of Viceroy Santa Monica and Chamberlain's other sister boutique properties, has crafted the interiors as an eclectic mélange of exquisite, singular artifacts drawn from a multitude of eras and genres."

Glad it turns out the designer is, indeed, working in tandem (or that's how I interpret "a protege"; I might be wrong...) of Kelly Wearstler. Her Santa Monica Viceroy is remarkable, I love both the boldness and good taste she brings to boldness.

If I ever come to LA, I'll make sure to stay at Chamberlain.

I stayed there two weeks ago, and plan on going back every time I'm in LA. They upgraded me to a 1-bedroom suite with a gas fireplace & balcony, which was modern & cozy at the same time.

The staff is the most friendly and helpful of any hotel I have stayed in, and the place is immaculate.

I also highly reccomend the Pan-roasted Chicken from their restaurant... it's amazing comfort food!
