What: Red & White basketweave ceramic tile

Why: Most stores decorate the dressing room as an after thought (if at all). But at design and decor store, Mercado, their tall and thin black door at the back of the store opens to reveal some unexpected colour within, like a dark coat taken off to reveal a sophisticated red dress underneath. Makes a nice pairing with last week's TileVault post from Maxwell.





Pretty floor. Ceramic, eh? They look a lot like concrete tile in the picture.

They look good but little bit too bright. Using natural stone, like marble granite or limestone tiles, might be better for this type of mosaic patterns. See lots of similar patterns here:
