Walking into Atmosphere is a thrill. There is not a look dont touch attitude, which is a blessing because you are going to want to touch and sit on everything.
The furniture does take forever to get made, but when you are paying ten grand for a couch you want them to take their time and get it right.
We recently helped a friend furnish their New York pad with the meticulously made, museum quality pieces, which are created in Italy with a strong Brazilian influence. And while the prices are out of this world, (this Kalup chair will set you back about $5000.00) the furniture is clearly so special that if you have the cash, this might be the place to put it.

Went to the showroom shortly after they first opened. Really beautiful stuff--understated, modern, made with top-quality materials.
But on my first visit (just walking in from the street after picking up a cup of coffee nearby), I had no idea they were a higher-end retailer. So, I was caught in that vortex of not being want to be pigeonholed as a lookie-loo. So, I lingered in the store much longer than originally intended and asked a lot of questions--trying to give the impression that I actually had the budget for these pieces.
Must say that the staff was very helpful and friendly. They answered all of my questions, spoke knowledgably about the manufacturing process, and loaded me up with tearsheets. Now, I must live with the secret shame of faking the funk at a high-end store. I'm not proud of it, but it's true! (Lowers head and sighs.)
Anyone know of a cheap version of that dresser with the 2 drawers and the shelf? It doesn't have to have that pedestal, but I've been looking for that exact combination--2 drawers and a shelf on top--for over a year.
