unless the print is smooth, i would not want a bowl with all those indentations to scrub out every time it's used!

it gives me the sensation of something touching my things...a little bit creepy ;)

I did not realize it was a finger print. I have seen these and thought it looked and felt like a nice texture.

This is not something you are going to scrub or to really use because they are made of porcelain and quit fragile..it is more of a nic nac or display piece.

I think it reminds me of woodgrain. That resonance with the idea of a fingerprint is very grounding to me. I really like this a LOT.

cb2 had a whole line of appetizer plates that were fingerprints, they appear to have been discontinued otherwise I'd link.

Canadian artist Michelle Kosoy does something similar using Indian wood blocks to emboss the porcelain--exotic and gorgeous! http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2009/01/canadian-cool-kosoy-bouchard/

Interesting idea. A little weird to think that someone else's graphic identity is holding your nic nacs! It would be cool if you could have one specially made with your own print.
