I guess I don't get it - I mean it's pretty...
...But how does a Mother get out of it with a sleeping baby in her arms?
Where do you sit a cool iced tea?
If you have a bad back or have had a couple too many cocktails - How do you sit in it much less stand up afterwards?

Bepsf, I don't understand your objection. Do you see every lounge chair specifically designed for a nursing mothers or people with bad backs? I think this chair set is brilliant and is not only a feat in engineering but is a smart use of space.
Oh, it also looks like the center chair unit can be turned on it's side and used as a table for iced tea.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with bepsf. Chairs should be made for general population - not just those who are in perfect health/shape/etc to get up and down easily.

Way too modern for my aesthetic, but I do appreciate the clever design and use of honest materials.
And there is room in this wide world for all sorts of chairs, from which we may pick and choose according to our tastes/wants/needs/budget.
As to where you'd "sit a cool iced tea," gee, I dunno ... maybe on a table??? Are we wishing for chairs with cupholders now? And I'd hate to be limited to a range of chairs that would accomodate drunks, as per bepsf's comment.

I don't understand the objections based on comfort or practicality either. There are quite a few modern designs that are seriously not comfortable or good for people with back issues (e.g. the Bertoia Diamond chairs are horrid for long-term sitting). Obviously, people with back issues or nursing mothers won't buy this chair, but does that mean it has no right to exist?

I don't think this is meant to be the only seating in an entire apartment. I'd love to have it for entertaining, when I have more people than my sofas can hold.
like it, but my ass is going numb just looking at it

Wow. I love this! Imagine my joy when I clicked on their website and saw "Made in Canada. Available in Montreal spring 2009."
