Feels like a knock-off of Mendini's Proust armchair

Quand on copie les styles francais, il ne faut pas imaginer que il n'ya pas des limites de goût.

I like them a lot. I think they're hot!

Ok, I registered just to leave a comment on this entry.
I hate orange. I can't even TELL YOU how much I detest orange. (Unless it's skittles or fanta or starbursts...food - I use the term loosely - related.) I don't own anything orange, I don't wear orange, and I certainly don't decorate with orange.
But sweet Jesus, that chair! I love it. Love. LOVE. I would break my orange embargo for that chair. (I'm not so much a fan of the others, but I could definitely see Galadarling and her fan base be all over them.)

I love them!
Oh well, I do not like the one with the corset girl but I love all the others!! Esp.the one with the wings!

I think the blue seated version is the funniest, but I wouldn't buy that one first. I would buy the orange one first, and never the corset armless version.

Oh I adore the orange one, and the angel one, but I like them all.
The orange is the hottest, though.

I like the idea of them more than the execution. The patterns look sort of cheaply screen-printed. In fact, I am wondering if these are just renderings and not actual finished pieces. They seem "flat" and lack texture. Of the four, though, I like the gray angel one the best. They might look a lot better in real life.

i can appreciate the concept of these chairs, the idea of a graphical chair is appealing and witty.
what i don't like about this is the designer's choice of imagery and colour combinations.
the images on the chairs featured feel tacky - and sometimes cheap, especially the corseted girl.
this would be great to see done by someone with better aste (IMO.)

I also like the idea of these chairs but not the execution. I feel the imagery needs to be worked on a little more. It could be brilliant, but it's just not there yet. The graphic of the angel looks a tad amateurish. I went to his website to see what else was in his collection, there was a great chair with the imagery of a screaming girl - it's a great idea but needs to be thought out more - just my opinion.

The comic strip chairs on his website look good, as does the screaming woman graphic champas mentioned. Other than that, a lot of the images look like stock photos printed on a painted chair and aren't really great as either concepts or furniture. I like the white and blue chair above, though--it has a sense of humour.

Even if you think this is cute for a minute (and I do not), imagine how tiresome it would be to have this kind of stale joke/novelty in your home for years.

This is sooo...ugly. Photos and cheap trendy graphic on a furniture is too much for me.

Yes, it's real hot in Paris right now, but I hate that style, so I'd say:
- I'm sick and tired of seeing that "barocco revisited" style in every single Parisian store (am French and moved away from Paris 1 month ago). No point for being original.
- the corseted girl is tacky.
- I'm tired of bright silver. Luckily, it's just a passing trend. Get over it already !
- However, I'd love seing those chairs in soft tones, funny but not uselessly provocative. Think patterns ! Great, modern, oversized or over-funny patterns !

kinda conflicted about these - there are definitely not for me - but just as a creative/artistic expression they're really cool - I just wouldn't put one in my apt.

don't like any above but some on the website are nice. wouldn't pay that price for any though - don't like them THAT much.

Pretentious, ugly, and poorly handled. What a waste of some perfectly good chairs.

A clown reciting Shakespeare; that's what we have here.

Love the orange one, but the rest look like something you could snag just as easily off of etsy, especially the corset one. Main problem design wise for me is that the chosen images don't flow well with the shape of the chairs themselves.

Trendy pictures should be on t-shirts, not chairs.

I can picture a line-up of these in a Juicy Couture store. They would fit right in with the retail design.
I think they would work better if the graphics were more refined. These look like they once graced the front of a juniors department t-shirt.

Those center armchairs are very similar to those that were in the Crow's Nest of Holland America's Vista Class ships...

Mr. Dingemans remarked in reference to the unusual chair, "In the right setting, even gaudy things can take on a sense of beauty".

A very original concept - not for everyone, but I think they're great. Laughing at all the haters on this site whose own work leaves a lot to be desired. People in glass houses... etc
