It was clever 15 years ago when Phillipe Starck started designing this stuff for Kartel...
...now it's truly tiresome.

I live in Seattle and have yet to buy patio furniture because no matter the time of year, it's sure to get rained on. I don't feel like racing outside ever time it begins to rain to cover up my furniture with a tarp so this would be an awesome solution! Plus stylish. I LOVE Modern! My outdoor seating would be just as cool looking as my living room is. Now, wonder if it's affordable?
Sometimes I wonder if the modern enthusiasts should branch off of this Blog as it seems to be going to a new direction.

What are the geodes in picture 8? And are the Munnys in picture 4 solely decorative?
It's cute to look at, but my booty wouldn't be too happy after more than a few minutes on one of those stools. No thanks!

Plastic is tacky. Needs pink flamingos to go with it.

Those chairs look like Parcheesi game pieces. I wouldn't buy them for my own taste, but it sure would be fun for a kid area.

Pic no. 7 is the only one I like as they look moderately comfy in a satisfyingly blobby sort of way. The rest, eh, I could do without. The pink bench looks especially dated and the pop bottle cap and inverted wine glasses are too kitschy for me.

Uh, FYI, most of those aren't Karim Rashid's work--they belong to other designers whose work is show in the same line on the website. Pictures 5, 7, and 11 are by Rashid; 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12 are not (info is on the linked website from the article), not sure about 4, 8, and 10.

Karim loooooooooves him some Plastic.
Even if it's not his, this stuff is all very 5 minutes ago, if not Out completely.
But beauty is where you find it, no?
