Smart idea, the wood just needs to be really solid.

Like the idea, but it really depends on build quality.

I looked at the site and other projects. I really like the double desk best of all his designs.
Keep in mind these are prototypes in response to an assignment.

if you're short like me, this could be a dream come true... if the construction and materials are sturdy and the contents of the shelves won't fall all over the place.
i hate high shelves.

Only if the "steps" were engineered to easily pull out (and in) by a 5'2" 108 pound humen (sic) when fully loaded. But then again, it is conceptual. In production, I'm sure it would be more attractive too.

I think it's a good idea as long as the steps are strong enough to support the weight.

Sounds neat in concept... but it's positively fugly in execution.

I realize the project is to save space by utilizing height, but it would be great if this concept could be developed in same height, one fewer shelf, and something like under the counter height. If I had these as drawers in the kitchen, it would be great for reaching things on the tops of cabinets. I do have pretty high ceilings, but I think joining this idea in a short space to help with other high spaces would be fantastic.

i think this is pretty great, provided your bottom shelves aren't too heavy to pull in and out.

like the idea, but worried about how much weight the shelves can bear as well
