Actually, I like this calendar a lot. I wish it was commercially available.
My father, who has moved to an assisted living apartment, has a wonderful collection of perpetual calendars. (These were manufactured in the 1920's on through the present, and believe me, some of them are wild!) Although this is not a perpetual calendar, it is very creative, and I think my father would be amused by the obvious correlation between time and a flame.
It would be a perfect Christmas gift for him because it is small.

Good way to put the day behind you. Especially if you lit a candle with it.

My husband is somewhat of a pyromaniac (don't worry, he doesn't do anything dangerous or illegal) and would love this!

Totally awesome. This is a hazard only if you have children who cannot keep their hands to themselves. Otherwise, it is no more flammable than any other paper/plastic calendar.

How is this funner than a page-a-day Far Side calendar? This is ok if you light candles, but what are you going to do when you go on vacation for 2 weeks or just get lazy? Kids should know how to safely use matches, and maybe it's not the best example to just light a match just to light that match, but it's also possible to like something in concept and think about something other than how horrible something is just because you have children you can't apparently keep dangerous things from. I fail to see how this is hazardous for any other reasons; how is this worse than having a box of matches? It's unique, but I can think of more interesting ways of counting.

I worry about the fire hazard. Definitely wouldn't want it near my daughter.
