little too much of an Ikea ad for me...

Kudos to Apartment Therapy for being ahead of the curve -- and kudos to Maria for creating such a cool space, especially on a budget! Maybe some of the stuff is from Ikea (which is inspiring in and of itself), but it's all been made so personal that you would never know. The place is so focused on color and art -- I love that!

This is one of my all-time favorite house tours, too! I love the bright white and bright colors. It makes me want to move to LA! (Almost.) I love her outdoor space and adorable textiles.

The feature was nice but the house tour on AT showed her place off to much greater advantage. There was no pic of her bedroom. IKEA is beside the point. Maria's use and balance of color and her comfy style are the hit.

I thought this was the best part of Domino this month - it was real! When i read it I thought "this seems like AT style"! I would have liked more pictures though. My only issue: why why why would she want to paint the wood floor white? paint on wood is painful to remove!

I got my Domino in the mail a day or two ago and saw this and was like "Wait, wasn't this an AT tour?!"
Awesome!

yes! i remember seeing this house tour while flipping through my domino and was wondering if you were going to do a post on it!
i really like her home a lot, there are a lot of ikea pieces but it doesnt scream ikea catalog to me- its got personality!

Love the way she displays books. So much vibrant color and personality.
But I found myself desperately needing just one colorless space to rest the eye.

Hey AT - thanks for the comments! I do have two spaces in my house that are near empty of color - both the bedrooms, which unfortunately aren't in the magazine. the master bedroom is all white with a simple piece hanging over the bed, clear acrylic side tables and all white bedding. the guest room is a grey/blue with white trim, white curtains and a white bed. and nothing on the walls. it's because of AT that my house is in Domino, so thank you to everyone for taking a look and supporting both this beloved site and the magazine too. I appreciate your comments alot! m

This was one of my favorite house tours! Love her use of color. She does a wonderful job of decorating her home on a budget. This is a look that I try to incorporate into my own home...but perhaps with less flair than Maria! Congrats on the article!
