When Tyke and Jon first moved into their Topanga Canyon home, the kitchen was kind of dark, but the bottom cabinets were in good condition. However, as Tyke explains, they were "...just ugly." So, they switched out the counter with corian, repainted the bottom cabinets with the highest gloss they could find (from Farrow and Ball), and switched the floors with a solid black linoleum. They also switched out all the appliances (they got a lucky deal from floor models) and replaced the top cabinets with Ikea ones. The end result is fresh, bright, modern, and clean, just like the rest of their house.
