How To: Make Your Own Invisible Bookshelves

Despite the trying-too-hard-wiener-dude-attitude vibe of the video, the actual how-to instructions shown are very clear and detailed. Just watch your hands/fingers while using that utility knife...we were even worried slacker-hipster dude was going to lose a finger in the video above.

I don't get the current, invisible shelving craze. Is everyone who sees it supposed to go "ooh" and "aah?" It basically makes you have to explain the thing to people. It ain't functional. Chriss Angel chic i guess.

I think there is a commercially available product that does exactly this, but doesn't ruin any of your books. Try http://www.boingboing.net/2006/05/06/invisible-bookshelf-.html

I bought a bracket that does this - it cost less than $10 and spared all my digits.

Yeah, the guy's a cheeseball and it's a dumb idea. Donate the books you don't read, don't destroy them.
