Home-made Sun Jar

solarjar_11-21.jpg
This Home-made Sun Jar posted on instructables is about the coolest, affordable green DIY project we've seen in a long while. Contributor crea8tor uses an Ikea glass jar, a solar garden light, some common AA rechargeable batteries, and putty adhesive to mimic the more refined, but pricier Toby Wong designed Sun Jar. Not a bad idea for a stocking stuffer. [via Lifehacker]

We tried this, and found that the standard solar lawn light mechanism is too wide to fit into the jar, even when taken out of the plastic light frame. Any hints?
