How To: Clean a Chandelier Without Making a Mess
...using an umbrella

120308atlaumbrellahowto.jpgYou've undoubtedly have brought out your umbrella in the last few weeks with the arrival of fall storms. But did you know you can also use that umbrella inside as a cleaning aid while dusting/spraying your chandelier? You'll need an umbrella with a J-hook handle or a loop at the end to attach to a safe part of the chandelier. Hanging it open upside down, the umbrella will catch all falling dust and debris while you're cleaning your overhead lighting, keeping your floors clean. Afterward, just take the umbrella outside and shake out clean. Just remember to do that last step or you might find yourself in a dust storm the next time you open up your umbrella!
