How to: Make a desk for two

010908desk.jpg

Everyone needs a space of their own. This is especially true when it comes to home offices or just an area to pay bills and whatnot. Unfortunately, there isn't always room to accommodate separate desks. This clever idea spotted at the DIYideas.com website shows how to transform a single table and bookcase into a space for two...

Also a great idea for a kids room, there's a downloadable PDF with all the instructions. Could be a fun candidate for your January Jumpstart Project? We especially like how they painted the middle cubby an accent color. Check out other great ideas at the DIYideas.com website. Image from DIYideas.com

Does only one side have shelves then? That kind of stinks but I bet there's a bookshelf that could resolve that somehow...

You could put two narrow shelves back to back. You could cut out have the back and put it on the other side. You could put bracing in the corners and take out the back altogether. You can do whatever you want ....
