We're not so sure about the actual finished results, but this idea shown at Crafty Crafty of using bubble wrap for curtains is pretty keen. The blue tape isn't doing it for us, but perhaps stretched across in a wood frame, the bubble wrap could become a nice privacy partition. The danger, of course, is that guests might be tempted to pop your creation away...

I enjoy a good popping session as much as the nest person but...NO

I know I would. I'm not allowed to be around bubble wrap.
Although...is bubble wrap soundproof?

I like it. I used to use bubble wrap on windows to diffuse light for photography. It makes the light really pretty.

Next project: Lining the windows with aluminum foil.

sure, why not? set into wood frames would pass for something high rent easily. who says you have to buy $2K designer glass plates to create the same effect? this project is definitely a good test at discerning who's a snob or not. if it's done VERY well i bet no one would be able to tell what it is right off the bat.

oh - and doesn't the fact that using such a contraption automatically scores you Enviro-conscious points? that's a definite plus. reuse!

Oh, this is just perfect for my cardboard shack underneath the freeway!

Can a BubbleWrap(tm) shower curtain be far behind?

Wow, all you need is an abandoned car on the front lawn and you're all set.
Fail.

I would be too tempted to pop them...so I would say NO to these.

This would not last 5 minutes in my home. Pop pop pop.

Really good free window insulation in the winter - put it behind curtains in windows the neighbors don't see, keep your house warm and save lots of energy. Put it over an in-window air conditioner stop air leaks.
If you have metal window frames, you can attach it with those strong, tiny magnets or you could stretch it over a wood frame/stretcher strips.

Ummm... No. I simply don't have the self-control that it would take to avoid the popping spree.
And, it still looks like bubble wrap to me. Nothing interesting about it. Maybe the recycling potential but not a whole lot else.

Ugh! Very "decorating cents"...

wouldn't the bubbles just collect dust on the raised side? that would look icky--a dusty piece of plastic hanging in front of your window. bleagh! although, I guess you could take it outside & hose it off...
