How To...Dress Up An Alcove

042908_alcove.jpgWe've received some Good Questions about what to do with alcoves, so when we found this article at From House To Home, we had to share. While it goes through some quick tips like adding accessories or hanging a canvas, we really like the idea of creating a frame within the alcove. Want to try it? Steps after the jump!

Instructions from From House to Home:
Start by measuring 2 inches from the top and sides of the wall and 3 to 4 inches from the bottom to get the proper dimensions for your frame. Next, paint a rich color on the wall. While it dries, head to your local home improvement store for narrow molding to make your frame (resin works well--and even comes in white). You can have it cut to your specifications at the store, or do it at home.

Finally, assemble the frame on the wall using finishing nails. The result? A sophisticated, trendy look that punches up the wow factor in any space.
