This weekend is the much-anticipated AIA Austin Homes Tour, and if you won't be able to make it (or just can't get enough of Austin homes even after the tour is over) we thought we'd bring you another great resource where you can see good-looking modern home interior and exterior photographs for inspiration. We once posted about the Austin website Modern Austin; founder Ben Phenix does an excellent job presenting the city's modern homes for sale. He also has a Flickr stream, where he's visually and thoughtfully cataloged modern homes in Austin in sets by neighborhood. You can enjoy the colorful photographs at home while online, or print a few out and drive around Austin and try to spot the modern homes for yourself! Even if you're not in Austin, it's still a lot of fun looking at these inspiring architecture photos.
What do you think about Modern Austin and the Flickr stream? Do you have a favorite online resource that catalogs modern homes in your city by neighborhood? Share and inspire others!

Wow. These are not...good. That living room is all kinds of wrong.

I feel like these Austin posts, in general, have not been very inspiring recently. I thoroughly enjoy Austin-centric posts when there is something worth posting; it seems odd, however, that nearly all articles written by the Austin correspondent are solely Austin-relevant. It seems that most other bloggers write about general design inspiration and only rarely do they feature things that pertain solely the author's respective city.
I don't want to come off negative, really, but even as a proud Austinite, I am losing patience with all the Austin posts. I would hate for anyone else to get tired of us! They seem to be grasping at straws for new material; if there's nothing to say, then let it be. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
It seems that perhaps trying to inject a more widespread appeal into the posts which feature Austin at the core is the way to go. I'm sure they would then attract more readers and comments, and isn't the dialogue of design-loving folks what makes AT so great?
Just my two cents..
