The Bug Vacuum

atla102607_bugvac.jpg

I have to admit, I was once a bug stomping killer who rarely took pity on intruding arachnids or insects. But now, a cup and a magazine subscription card is the kinder option for ridding of creepy crawlers. I guess if I wanted to have a bit of fun while ridding myself of potential Peter Parkers running across my face at night, I could get one of these snazzy insect vacuums from Japan. Check out the video to see how it works. You'd definitely something stronger and larger for roaches though...a bazooka sized insect vac. [via Pink Bamboo]

I got a similar item (Bugzooka) as a bday gift one year b/c of a particularly traumatic incident with a flying tree roach. We've used it once to catch a very agitated horse fly, and it worked fine. The nozzle isn't big enough for tree roaches though. :(

We have a gadget that looks like a plastic tennis racket it has a battery in the handle and is great for zapping flies etc.

Aaah, flying tree roaches - mine main reason not to live below the Mason-Dixon line ...
