We couldn't resist sharing this with you. Described as "an electronic fly-swatting device based on the idea of the Venus fly trap. The Fly Catcher is not just a talking point, it actually catches flies."

And if the idea of this isn't silly enough, the thing burps after it's 'eaten' the fly. The Fly Catcher is available here.

OMFG another fly catcher/swatter post. Are you kidding me? This thing looks like it came from the set of Little Shop of Horrors. I mean do the majority of folks that post here just live down a dark ally with tons of garbage lingering outside their windows because I don't get why or how you people can have such issues with flies unless you are totally just living in filth.

Right, so, um, I can't see the video... does it have some sort of bait to lure the flies in and is it a mechanical squasher or does it zap them?
LittleRock, I think it's a bit of a running joke at this point.

Jeezis peasis, don't you people have any sense of humor? This gadget is hysterical, enter the mind of the inventor! Any way unless you are in cryogenic-land there will be flies. Umi

Having flies doesn't mean you live in filth. I live in a neighborhood that has acre lots and horse priviledges. I don't have horses, but neighbors on one side and behind me both do. Flies can't seem to understand to stay in their own yard. I do nothing to attract them - my property is clean, garbage always contained - but they still visit like an annoying relative. Those plastic smelly fly trapper bags work to lure them off my patio and to the far side of the property, but... ugggg. I'm giving this a try.
