This weekend, when we had guests over, one remarked "Oh! Your soap matches your tiles!" Yeah, we're a little kooky that way. The soap in our dispenser, our nailbrush, our towels and even the lettering on the hand lotion we leave out, is amethyst. In a bathroom, especially in a rental, where the tile colour may be something you live with rather than something you love, these little touches have a lot of impact...
Turn to a colour wheel to help you choose something other than white. Towels can match your tile color or for something a little more inspiring, try a contrasting colour or an analagous colour. Here, pea-green towels, aubergine curtains and a red vase add drama and contrast to the large tub; the same bathroom with white towels, a clear glass vase and flowing sheer white drapes would create a completely different impression. This is a fairly inexpensive fix that can you can undertake yearly to give yourself a lift (and don't forget to donate your old towels to your local animal shelter)

Love the tub. And yeah I'm a little anal retentive about my soap and toiletries matching. Sue me.

The tub, yes! I'd love to know who makes it.

The tub looks like one of those 8,000 dollar tubs I saw on the internet the other night. Love the tiles on the wall a lot. Not over joyed by the table and stuff!

Sue me, but I would like the place better with the white curtain and towels. Probably not bleach white, more unbleached cotton or cream. It just seems really dark and I find the towel's shade of green depressing. Without the towel and red vase the paint color would be more relaxing. But of course, this is just my opinion.

I love how this bathroom is pulled together- where is the small black table from? It's just the thing to go next to my bed... Thanks!
