We look at hundreds of images every day, thousands every week, trying to find things to inspire, educate, or just entertain (we're definitely in need of a media fast like Laure recommended). But as stimulating as stylish products and interiors are, it's real world photos of people's spaces that personally inspire us. My current favourite is Sharilyn's inspiration board...it encompasses both the person whom I know and the things that inspire her own beautiful work. The naturally thoughtful organization of her desk is like a comfy room layout: balanced, welcoming and with its own little secrets that reveal themselves when looked upon closer inspection.

Love this.

So cute! My corkboard never looks that cute though. :( I love being surrounded by inspiration in my work space, but often that means not enough surface area to actually work on.

Does anyone know where to find a large corkboards like the one picture? I've tried the office stores in our area but the corkboards are either hideously ugly or way overprice. I thought about maybe doing the whole tile corkboard route but I would like one solid board. Any thoughts?

My parents both have inspiration or wish boards. My mothers above her desk/sewing area and my fathers... in the toilet... makes for interesting viewing. Lol. I love what they have on them. My father - a picture of the biggest gold nugget, a fisherman with a huge fish, us as a happy family, him as a 20 year old playing softball, an arm tattoo etc. My mother - a rainforest, an outdoor entertainment area with a fireplace, a picture of the entire family including grandbabies, her jewellery making business card etc...
Maybe I should start one...

Outside inspiration, that's what I need. Sat down on the couch last night with nothing going but the TV and did 3 things that, in the end don't really do, really they were sketches, getting ideas out. Perhaps I just need to pull out my vintage decorating books, put on some jazz or something along those lines, let them sink in and see what comes up. :-)
I probably should set up something along the lines of a cork board for just that, pictures of things that inspire me.

milo.delara,
For the board in the pic, she probably made it, b/c I've never seen corkboard with such nice frames. You could probably buy a frame and then a sheet of cork that come in rolls, and stick that in the frame. Another options is to do what I did: I got a free corkboard with metal frame off Craigslist, and painted the cork yellow. It looks so much nicer now!
