Growing up, we had an orange wooden horse just like that big one in the photo! Am I to think that it was Swedish? Now I have to wonder whatever became of that little guy.

My family had a few of them around, RJD; I think a couple were magnets, a couple were Christmas Ornaments, and then there was one made out of straw. They are definitely some kind of Scandinavian...my Dad is from Norway, and I notice that one in the picture has an icelandic rune painted on it. Perhaps they are common in all scandinavian cultures.

yes, they are called Dala horses. They are traditionally from Sweden. I had a couple growing up. :-)

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering when the US version was coming out, it wasn't when I was looking for it months ago. Hopefully it will be in stores by March 12, when the IKEA closest to me (West Chester, OH) opens ...

I work for IKEA, and I know that the book will only be avalibe in certain stores and it will come out at the end of March.
