We usually think of Indian décor as being bright, bold, and extremely colorful--this is probably due to the Bollywood Film Festival we attended last year and a few Indian weddings we've attended. So when we spotted this room in the June issue of Australia's Vogue Living, we were inspired by the use of black, white, and neutral tones and how it magnifies the beauty of Indian patterns and intricate designs. One detail we especially love are the surprising touches of silver on the wall and woven in the pillow fabrics.

I like it. There's a modern almost Zen feel to some Indian design that I really like but for some reason it seems like people tend to think Indian design is only about bright colors (which can be nice too), but it's nice to see the other side :)

This is the kind of use of pattern that feels good to me.
