apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Change Your Bedding, Change Your Look

We spied this chic and airy room yesterday on our Apartment Therapy LA Group Pool. Once we found the The One and Only Jet Guer's photostream, we noticed that he completely changed the look of his bedroom by simply changing the bedding. Take a look at how he transformed his space after the jump.

111908bed-02.jpgWhat was once flirty and light, is now masculine and cozy. While the space still feels roomy, there is a much more cozy vibe going on. The canary yellow bedding is now replaced with a navy blue comforter and pillows. Because the color palette still utilizes mostly white mixed with the sheerness of the white curtains around the bed--the space retains its roomy feeling despite it's new cozy look.

this is an amazing transformation! I love the look of the more feminine room. Does anyone know the source of that citron sheet?

I think the new look is fantastic! And note that he added a touch of green with the fern fronds on the side table. Cozy indeed.

That bedding must be fantastic, it's makes the floors look much more reddish and darker in the third image.

Nice change - from Grandma's house to someplace I'd like to stay.

Wow, that first set is one of the rare retro sheet sets that I like the look of. I like the improvement much more though. He has got some nice style.

The bed was made by my uncle 15 years ago. The "sheet" is actually a duvet from Dwell. Blue Velvet Quilt and all of the new bedding is by Pottery Barn.

We decided to keep our bedroom white when we realised we had ten different sets of bedding some that would co-ordinate and some that clash. When I change the duvet cover its a whole new look.

I have a twin bed that looks a lot like that- or, it would if I painted it white. It's by This End Up and I got it off craigslist. I see them listed all the time. It's nice because the headboard and footboard are both the same height (38"). Mine does double duty as a guest bed and a cutting table in my sewing room. I put a hollow core door on it, with a cutting mat, when I am working.
