We recently posted about how changing something as simple as your bedding can really change your entire space. And yesterday we saw this same technique in action over at The Homebound. Above is the guest bedroom before the change and below the jump are the inspirational "after" photos.

A few quick additions like the new striped, red rug and the red throw on the bed breaks up the dark color scheme in the room.

This is the side table before the addition of a decorative plate and table accent pieces.
By using items from her family, our friend over at The Homebound really made the bedside tables stand out. The room also stands taller by hanging the decorative plate and art above the lamps--we really love this transformation!

I have several duvet covers (okay, 6...) I change them every time I change my sheets! I love to have the variety and because I have a black and white theme, everything changes with just one switch.

This is a nice room, both before and after, but merely adding a red throw to the bed is neither changing the bedding nor particularly inspirational.

If there was ever a room screaming for an upholstered headboard, this is the one.

while it's not a huge change, it does look much more polished and pulled together. i find this post helpful.

I like how they pulled out one accent color and made it a much bigger part of the room. That is something everybody can do easily!

What is the color of the walls? I love it!

i agree with cassis, this wasn't a really great example of how bedding changes a room.
however, just talking about the subject makes me want to wash my sheets and change my bedding. (whether or not that happens anytime soon is another matter....)

it may not be a bedding change, in some strict sense, but these changes are within reach of most AT readers, may inspire more changes in the room, and do affect the mood or look. most people could use the extra blanket, or throw, and can move a few objects around and achieve improvement. pretty good. thanks for showing that.

The new rug, artwork, and light from the window is really what made the room look different. I think this post merits a different title: New rug, throw, art, and lighting slightly tweak a room.

Royaltygirl -- I, too, change my duvet cover whenever I change my sheets! In my case, it's because I don't use a top sheet... a mode of sleeping I grew to love in Europe. Also, all my sheets are geared to match specific duvets, so. Whatever the reasons, it's fun to have a completely different look every time I change the bedding.
