For some reason we're feeling really, really girly today. So we put together the basics for a modern, french-ish, feminine bedroom. We chose lilac and white for the girliness and red for the touch of something masculine and daring. We added a desk, because in our fantasy, this is our happy little studio where we easily live and work, and there is never any mess or clutter.
We like the lilac for not being pink, exactly and having a bit of a Fall vibe (maybe it's just us). We also made sure to keep plenty of flowers and delicate details around, but still spare enough to be relaxing. We liked the French writing desk because it feels like we would actually write letters at it and because it reminds us of Marie Antoinette.
Clockwise from top left:
• Antique Desk from PBTeen $399.
• Drop Lantern from Anthropologie $148.
• Lingo Storage Boxes from Ikea $4.99 for 2.
my bedroom IS the same color scheme! the only difference is that i added a dark accent wall behind the bed so i wouldn't need a headboard. i don't go for headboards. i wish i could send a picture.

Wow. I really love this color combo. Lilac and the red/red-orange looks so rich and strong, yet at the same time refine and girly.
And holy crap, I LOVE that desk! It'd make a cute vanity. :)

the bed linens are dwell's hedgerow.
also, fyi the drop lantern link goes to 2modern's website, not anthro's.

erinpearce..you can usually find birdcages, decorative, in places like Homegoods, (maybe only in Mass.) or Pier 1..made out of a wicker type material..and I feel like this color scheme is April Fool's? and we are supposed to THINK it is beautiful????? ...I don't see it..I tried..stomach lurching..but lilac and white is beautiful...it's the red color ..together..

I agree with keeks, the red doesn't work with the lilac. What about a rich chocoloate color, and/or sage green?
