We've been traveling around France for the last week and have finally made it to Paris where we stopped in at one of our favorite big home stores, Habitat. We got inspired by the color palettes that they're favoring, big time:
Color Palette Inspiration from Habitat
Habitat which gives places like Ikea a run for their money and is probably closest to being a European West Elm, was heavy on the purples, pinks blues and fuchsia's but all tempered with white, glass, chrome and bits of raw wood. Our very favorite is the pink kitchen (remember when we found this pink kitchen?) tempered with a white table and touches of wood and chrome and, of course, red. The deep blue bedroom is cozy without being heavy or dark and the magenta and purple bedroom looks modern and fun (love that wallpaper!). What do you think of their color palettes?

I've always wanted a pink kitchen...maybe someday.

I always wanted a pink room and when I finally moved into my own apartment with no boyfriend I painted my bedroom a light pale pink. I paired it with darker wood, more masculine linens (navy blue striped sheets), and bold pops of color so it didn't look overly girly. The best part was when my ex-boyfriend (who never let me have the pink room when we lived together) said to me: "I cannot believe I am saying this but the pink looks really good."

I think pink can be a great color -- not too girlie. Does anyone know what color the pink in the kitchen is? Or the pink from the other pink kitchen from the earlier post?

I agree the colors are yummy. Gives Ikea a run for their money? Not according to the prices on the Habitat website, especially after doing the conversion to dollars.
