Commune Design: 2 Distinct Styles, 1 Great Home

One of our co-workers was wailing about how her roommate--an outdoorsy man from Portland--kept putting up what she called "lodger man Old Spice decor." Her style was more sleek, minimal, and dare we say it? Mid-century. At first we clapped her on the back and said, "Good luck to ya!" and then we came across this lovely Silver Lake home, designed by the collective creative brain Commune Design. If this wasn't the perfect hybrid of his-n-hers styles, it comes pretty damn close.

We're envious at how great these rooms are pulled together--just when we think it's teetering on the edge of a hunter's lodge, the Bertoia diamond chairs and mirrored coffee table updates the style of the room. We're also loving how bright the rooms are (we usually think of dark paneling when we think of deer heads), and how it's still a cozy home.
