Often it's the small details that make a house a home. We enjoy spotting personal objects, small knick knacks, family photos in a home. When we recently visited a friend and noticed her decorative doorknobs looking lovely on each door of her home, we were inspired to roundup a few decorative door knobs that would look great in any space.

Ooh, I love these! Especially the globe knob. Sadly I think something like this would just draw attention to how hideous our doors are. Cheap and ugly.

I want the globe knobs!

These would look beautiful in my victorian home - but at almost $30 a pop and 15 interior doors to replace doorknobs, it's not very budget friendly.
I don't think they'e the right size for a vintage door anyway. :-/

How difficult is it to replace doorknobs? And are they normally one size fits all? Out home is almost 100 years old, so I wonder if that matters...

I got the bubbled glass doorknob, and I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. The base (the part that screws into the door) is smaller than today's standard doorknobs so I'd have to replace my door and start fresh to get it to work. It also seems to be missing some screws -- there are two spaces for screws on either side, but without matching screws I feel they would look strange.

Roundup of all Anthropologie? Shouldn't a "roundup" have a little more rounding up from different sources and for different needs?
These are all for the old mortise lock kind of door, not for the modern door with the big hole already cut out of it. Plus, they're crap and poorly made, probably what you might buy on a whim for one door for a little while, not what you'd set your contractor to redo all the doors of your house in.

In defense of these knobs, there's nothing wrong with the quality. Not every knob will work with a new door but some will. If you notice on the website it gives a diameter for each knob. The globe knobs are only 2" in diameter and won't cover the standard 2 1/8" hole in most new doors. I bought the eternal bloom doorknob which is 2 1/2" in diameter and it works just fine. Nor does your latch set need to be the old mortise style. Many new latch sets have the square hole that these knobs thread through. If yours don't you can buy them used for about a dollar a piece at any used building supply store.
Don't be turned off by the comments of a few negative people. If you love something you can make it work.

I'm not a negative person! I *wish* this doorknob worked great... it just didn't.
