Extra Chairs, Extra Storage and Display Spots

Because a chair found at the thrift store is an easy makeover with paint, we're on the fast track to having a chair collection. But not to worry, our chairs do more than just take up space...

A functional place for your keys and cell phone to land, a simple chair does the trick. Just add a tray and a hook and you've created a super simple landing strip. They're also great for storing items when not in use such as pillows, blankets and clothes (until we get a chance to put them away). Additionally, we like using our chairs for displaying home decor. Books, a table lamp, even a house plant atop a chair makes an attractive and eclectic looking spot. And while it may be unconventional to display artwork on chairs, we're digging the idea more and more.

I love picking up random chairs and small tables by the roadside and at tag sales.

well i suppose i am not alone in the periodic use of "every flat surface" and chairs (especially those with arms) are great for holding a load of laundry... am i right? however, i also can get overwhelmed by the clutter that creates and it makes me kerazy! I do love the chairs with the drawer... Very Cool Idea. and @mirandabee likewise, i have a couple in a closet awaiting placement and tlc (wouldn't it be nice to have a warehouse to rotate stock as it were)

I have my subwoofer on a really old chair. I know it's supposed to be on the floor for optimum sound but it works in my room. I'm a big fan of this idea.

Picture #5 contains both my favorites: chairs and lamps. Wish I knew where that lamp was from.

Seconded, TarDan731... my purple-happy house demands that plant.

The plant appears to be Persian Shield Strobilanthes. (I googled it because I was intrigued, too! Very pretty.)

I probably wouldn't use a chair for this, unless you count the purse I threw on a chair as I walked in a "display" I do like the photos though. That purple plant might actually convince me to get a plant! Very cool. Love the yellow/gray/black combo in #3. And such a pretty chair in #5.
#2 on,the other hand, reminds me of a Holocaust movie and that is too sad to have in your home.
