Fort Worth House Inspiration

071808_fort.jpgSince we've been hanging out in Texas so much recently (ok, only virtually, but still all the Austin bloggers are making us want to book a trip asap to see their fine city) we couldn't pass up the opportunity to share some images from another house in Texas described as Rainbow Brite meets the Lone Ranger at a flea market:

We love all the thrift store finds and the color (oh the color). It seems that living in a place that gets drenched in sun leaves you a little more free to experiment with bright and saturated colors. We found the house tour on the blog Rearranged Design where home-dweller Valerie and Curtis had this answer to the questionof whether their design style is organic or planned:

I would characterize it more as a battle to the death. It's a grueling struggle about where the coffee table should go: in front of the couch or in the trash. In the end, decisions are usually an equal mixture of utility, intuition, and feng shui.

See all the pictures and read the whole questionnaire on Rearranged Design.

I absolutely love that coverlet/bedspread...can it be purchased anywhere or was that a thrift store find?

sigh - that coverlet puts desire deep deep in my heart. the kitchen is a bit twee but that bedroom! with the possible exception of the decal, but that's alright because the bedding and dresser and globe and drapes and even that micro-table are in such happy harmony.

These interiors look like set decorations Tim Burton was considering for Edward Scissorhands. Weirdly fabulous.
