You can gather tons of inspiration from your very own neighborhood and all around your own home or apartments. We park off an alley behind our apartment buildings and have been lucky to find a furniture gem or two that a neighbor no longer wanted. We also recently experienced a color influence the other day when we spotted...
...our neighbor's lemon tree in full bloom! What a treat we had hanging over our neighbor's wall, welcoming us as we walked to our parking space. The yellows and greens of the fruit were so pretty that it has inspired us to paint some new frames we have in the same palette.
How do your own neighbors inspire your home design?

painting frames? I'd love to see some pictures.

one of my neighbors a few houses down has this really beautiful trellis and stone path to her door with this antique birdbath in the yard. its sooo pretty! she use to sell antiques so i'm guessing that's how she got those beautiful pieces.
My mum and I were making a little backyard patio with the same inspiration but we only got halfway done.

Wha? That looks like a fruiting lemon tree, not one in full bloom! Still, gorgeous color!

sadly, most of my neighbors, a combination of uncared-for ramshackle cottages, beigeville, and mcmansions, remind me of what NOT to do.
boulder wall, anyone?

I'm always on the lookout for garden ideas when I'm on a walk through the neighborhood. It's exciting to come across something new at someone's place, especially as the seasons change.

My neighbour's garden is a pleasure I can see from my bedroom window. However, as I live in France, my neighbours' homes are just too drab. Inherited brown furniture and enormous tvs.
