Inspiration: Black + Blum and Hanging Your Lamps in Multiples

atla-052108-multiples01.jpg2008-ICFF-LA.jpgThere were a lot of beautiful hanging lamps at ICFF. The lamps here are Big Bang and Little Bang by Black + Blum. While we love them as singles, what really upped the wow! factor for us was seeing them hung in a group of three.

We saw these lamps at ABC Carpet

This is a idea that easily translates to your home and works with lamps at all price points. Odd groups, whether of three or five, tend to be the most eye-catching. Play around and have fun with this. You can try different sizes of the same lamp and hang them at different levels. We gravitated towards white lamps but try colours. Whether all one color or a trio of harmonious colors, this can be a great way of adding pop to a room. Check out Bertjan Pot's lamps that Janel at ATChicago blogged today for another example of beautiful lighting hung in multiples.

Yes, kind of like those sectioned lamps that DWR has, only these aren't quite as over-exposed. In fact, these are really fresh.
