Inspiration: Cecconi's Restaurant

We were spoiled recently with an out of town guest footing the bill at a fancy restaurant. Because we had recently drooled over the images of Cecconi's Restaurant on Daily Candy we were thrilled when we ended up there on Sunday eve.

051209cecconi-01.jpgStanding ground at what used to be the iconic Morton's in West Hollywood, Cecconi's does not disappoint. Designed by Martin Brudnizki, we like to describe it as a Venetian inspired Mad Men set. Black and white patterned marble floors that extend throughout underneath ginormous, sparkling chandeliers makes the dining room impressive to say the least. We are in love with the rich blue chairs and the 25 ft long back-button sofa that runs the length of the south wall. Each table is set perfectly with miniature table lights that add a cozy vibe despite the luxurious setting. Walking down a side hall, you'll find a private room (with venetian curtains that can be opened or closed). A honeycomb wall peeks out across from an orange, heart-shaped feature (which is dotted with butterflies) and is this room's main attraction. In our last gallery photo, you'll see an arrow pointing to where we dined at Cecconi's (our new favorite spot). The terrace meets the main dining room through huge, open doors and heating overhead. Surrounded by a wall of manicured shrubs, we were snug and could view the entire restaurant from our table.

Wow that floor is amazing (and seems like it would have been a nightmare to install)!

I love the blue tufted sofa and the floors. I am a "new girl in town" who just started a blog. I was wondering if you could check it out and link to it if you like it so I can get some traffic and comments. I am very inspired by your site and plan to link to it often if it's ok. http://feefeern.wordpress.com/
