Inspiration: Fix Coffee Shop

091808coffee-05.jpgWe are quite familiar with the Starbucks school of thought about their coffee house being the "third place" that people hang out (the first being where you live and the second being your place of work). Until recently, that has left us with Starbucks corporate decor and coffee houses that are a mix of overstuffed couches and local art that leaves you always wondering, "Is there anything else?" We've noticed a new brand of coffee houses in Silverlake and Echo Park that we wouldn't mind taking an idea or two from. Fix coffee shop is definitely leading the charge in this new group... more after the jump.

Fix is located in our neighborhood, with a walking distance of one block--love it!

091808coffee-06.jpgWe've never felt the sexy lounge vibe from a coffee shop until now. Fix has this unexpected orange glow from large instillation lights that gives the dark wood a modern edge and reflective sheen. We would say that Fix is definitely giving off a vintage modern vibe. We also love the steel bar stools running the entire length at the back of the bar--perfect for people watching while getting your coffee fix.

Really loving the industrial components to the design. Very nice change from all the other coffee shops
