Anyone see this customer story from the latest catalogue of Room and Board? Lanie Pilnock's 500 square foot New York apartment's color scheme was inspired by Magnolia Bakery cupcakes. (And we love cupcakes. We really, really do).

The food inspiration reminds us of a great blog entry entitled "I Dream of Cake" over at Decor8--and while normally, we're not huge fans of pastel, we're thinking this sugary combo ain't so bad.

I would love to do a whole house in pastels. It doesn't have to be all pink and blue--there are orange, green, yellow, etc. to add to the mix. Naturally there would be white to tie it all together. Maybe I will give in to the Dark Side and do my bedroom with white walls and everything else in pastels. Although it might be like sleeping in an Easter basket, on the other hand, it might also be a basket full of those pretty pastel peanut M&M's!
