Inspiration: Lamill Coffee in Silverlake

121908lamill-05.jpgIt's been about a year since Lamill Coffee opened it's doors in Silverlake (across the street from Spaceland and right next door to Yolk). Last week we kidnapped our neighbor (and amazing photographer) Jason Redmond to go check out the much talked about Lamill Coffee and take some inspiring pics.

121908lamill-07.jpgFrom the moment you walk into Lamill Coffee, you know that this is not your average corner coffee joint. It's definitely for the grown-ups with sophisticated decor (without becoming stuffy).

Each table had these simple white carafes filled with water and lightweight (but oh-so-awesome) glasses to drink out of.

121908lamill-06.jpgThe chairs range in color from powder blue to a jewel teal color that are quite inspiring as a pair. The large artwork reminds us of the enormous Renaissance paintings at the Getty but are displayed in Lamill as a trendy backdrop to Silverlake hipsters.

Even the succulents are given the royal treatment on a glass pedestal.

We love how the signage for Lamill Coffee is displayed on the advertising benches just outside.

I would like a mural made from a lithograph of Poussin or other 17th c. master!

Those chairs are hella sexy...

...and Beth, the museum's name is spelled "Getty", not "Ghetty".
