Inspiration: Laurana's 16 Square Foot Craft Studio

041709craft-01.jpgLaurana takes a teeny space and organizes an entire craft room perfectly. Not only is it one of the teeniest craft studios we've seen, it may be the most organized--further reasons why her craft studio rocks after the jump!

041709craft-02.jpgSmall spaces need a little bit of color to make your eyes focus on another element besides the size. Hot pink seems to work great with white and dark brown accents. In addition, Laurana takes the right side of the room and installs five levels of shelving (utilizing vertical space is key).

041709craft-03.jpgWe love the fact that no space goes to waste--Laurana uses magnetic containers to hold craft items.

041709craft-04.jpgIn a small space where rows of shelving may interrupt good lighting, Laurana attaches lighting underneath to brighten up the area.

this is so awesome! and yay! i finally spotted a litter box! :)

i like seeing spaces where people have to accomodate exposed plumbing or litter boxes and STILL make it ridiculously goodlooking.

Drool, drool, drool.

I am beyond jealous and am already seeing what I could do with my walk-in.

I love it that the cat looks suspicious in the first picture. Like, "why are you photographing my litter box?"

Really cool space.

That is SO COOL. I always am jealous of those with an extra bedroom for a craft room or studio. (I have 4 kids. Not extra rooms to be found.)

I never thought about using a closet or small space. Very cool!

Moose53 or Barb, I believe those jars are from Ikea. 3-4$ a pop.

Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you like my tiny pink craft space :)

Barb: Cyb's right, those are Burken jars from Ikea.

That is lovely! I wish I had a space to do this, but it definitely seems much more doable than the people who have a whole room to devote to crafts, I'll never have that much space unless I build on to my house. If we ever enclose the laundry room in the garage, I am totally stealing some of it for my craft space and I'm going to emulate this awesome space!

Incredibly organized... I wish I could be like that!

Is the kitty litter box being used as an actual litter box? What happens if you are working and the cats have to...go?

Now I'm off to organizing a closet...

Gorgeous little super-funtional space- love the pink!
Am sure Kitty moves his litter tray in a little secret corner- mine get stage- fright sometimes if I walk in on them, so they would love this.

Cute space! I also have a tiny area that is 3x6 and love it, but have a full-sized window as well for additional lighting with lots of shelving...small blackboards and corkboards are great for drawing out and piecing projects before sewing them...The only quirk I would have in the room we view is that the chair could be changed to a regular desk chair with wheels...moving around in small space is difficult enough without having to push around or scoot a chair...Otherwise awesome use of space!!!

I dont see litter box, only pet-taxi / carrier...???

That is not a carrier, it is a large litter box with a lid. You can find them at any pet store or at Wally World.

My cats don't/didn't like lids (only got one now, the other one passed of old age). If you have a cat that will deal with a lid it is a nice way to keep the odor and litter tracking controlled.
