We check in with Maya at Maya*Made from time to time and last week, she promised her readers a tour of her mom's bathroom at the barn. A heavily dominated white backdrop that plays up some amazing natural light--making this bathroom quite the charmer. More views after the jump.
We love the green accents of the sprouted grass and cabinet mixed with the crisp white of the space.
Before entering the bathroom, you walk under twin filigree transoms and a repurposed pocket door (adding a bit of rustic charm to the look).
In addition to the hints of green, yellow flowers in a vintage jar add to the overall appeal of the bathroom. We also love the delicate yellow curtain strung from a simple wire with clips.
A big fan of white towels and linens, we love how the bathroom closet is stacked with extras.

A lovely casual space. But "Barnyard" and "Bathroom" are two words that should never be put together.

It's nice - but those tubs of grass would have to go on the window sill, 'cause it drives me crazy when decorative things get in the way of me finding a place to put my toothbrush, razor and hair goo.

Love this look!
Did you frame the mirror yourself or did it come like that? I'm in the process of trying to frame a piece of glass in the same way.

Comicgeek: LOL! I agree; better to call it a farmhouse bathroom. ("Barnyard bathroom" calls to mind a childhood incident in which I was watching the cows enter the barn for milking on my grandparents' farm in Iowa, and one of them did her business on the floor just as she passed me ... I got splattered!)
BTW, I had a bathroom sink just like that in my old apartment ... with the added inconvenience of the hot and cold water being backwards. Once i moved, it took over a year for me to quit forgetting and turning on the hot water to brush my teeth!

Thanks, all! My mother's home was technically a barn before it was converted into living space and studio. It still looks like one on the outside!
Art: the frame was bought at an auction and we had it fitted with a mirror at a glass shop. Simple and fairly reasonable price-wise. They even installed sturdy hardware for hanging.
